A metre tall with an iridescent head, or the size of a cotton ball, all scarlet and spots, there are so many extraordinary, beautiful birds along the Gibb River Road of all shapes and sizes, we felt we had to give them a blog post of their own.
Our Gibb River Road adventure is chronicled in our previous post, but now is your chance to meet the Jabiru, the Crimson finch, eagles, swamphens and other multi-coloured majestic creatures that have delighted us along the way. We only managed to snap a few of the many – most were just too fast for me – but even this little montage is a wonderful introduction to the bird world of the Top End.
